For anyone that's confused:
The first 3 pages of ch 57 is 5 years after the USA trip. And then it goes immediately back into a flashback 5 years into the past (which would be right after the USA trip of ch 56). So you can ignore the first three pages if you think it's confusing and ignore the fact that a 5-year time skip is coming. Then the rest of ch 57 would be stuff that happens right after Yuki and Itsuomi come back from their trip in ch 56
Yall I'm trying so hard but it's nearly impossible for me to read this without pulling my hair out.
WHY did she allow sunbae at her place
WHY is he still there
WHY cant she say no
WHY does she leave her laptop unlocked for him to open and read her draft
WHY doesnt she officially find a new job to cut ties
WHY WHY WHY
This is so frustrating omg. I understand lots of people struggle with being people-pleasing doormats. But this is too much. I feel so bad for the ML. I wish he just walks out and lets MC work on herself. Because she's really the one that needs to pull her shit together.
This is not romantic at all. She's just stringing someone who is sincere about her along while she doesn't have the confidence to fully end things with the other guy. Even if she doesn't have bad intentions, she's being manipulative and taking advantage of someone's feelings for her. And he sees and understands everything that is happening and still lets her hurt him.
I don't ship them. I don't want them to be together when the summer ends. I just want them to go their separate ways. I want the FL to go to therapy and work on herself. I want the ML to learn he doesn't need to cling to someone and beg for their love in order to be worthy. This is so unhealthy at a realistic level that I'm fr struggling.
If you see someone acting weird, don't engage. Some people feel so empty they try to feel more alive by trolling online. They don't care whether the responses they get are positive or negative. They only care that they were able to make someone react.
Just ignore them. Any interaction from others is actually positive reinforcement for them.
I think yall forgot that had Rou not gotten together with Yoshino, he would've indeed continued to sleep around.
I don't think that line was meant to be read as "I would sleep with you (in the future if Yoshino and I were to break up)". I think it was supposed to be read as "(If I still were the person I was before I met Yoshino) I would sleep with you." He wasn't saying that he would have committed to Niko had he met him before Yoshino. Just that back in his era of tapping everything that was remotely in his strike zone, he would've for sure tapped Niko like he did with the rest of the guys that went to the bar.
There was 0 intent from Rou to cheat. He wasn't even looking at Niko that way. You're putting meaning in the wording that is not compatible with anything that happened in the story.

This convo is so well written. The masks are off on both sides.
Riftan is finally clearly voicing that his abrasiveness comes from self-blame and self-hatred. He's been thinking all this time that he ruined Maxi's life by pulling her into this marriage.
And Maxi is finally expressing the self-hatred and self-blame that comes as a result of her father's abuse. She's telling Riftan how much she didn't want him to know she wasn't loved like a precious daughter.
I also love that during the previous ch (149) they just carried Maxi out without asking her anything. They focused on getting her to a safe place first.
The wait has been long for sure. But these last two chapters have been rewarding.

I started reading this not expecting it to be this good. I'm weak to accurate representations of depression.
