I hope this ends in a tragedy. The brothers are trash, younger brother being a psycho and older brother being an enabler/professional victim. Senpai guy deserves better. Of course, doesn't mean I don't like the story, older brother being mentally broken and possibly ruining everybody's lives is delicious. I love bad ends.

I don't fault Haruki for behaving like a victim. He is a victim after all. Hanabusa probably thinks Haruki deserves better than him which is why he hasn't contacted Haruki again. I do think this will be a tragedy though based on what's been written so far.

Meh. He could have broken it off fairly easy. The story gave ZERO reasons for him to stay abused by younger brother. He can't make "breaking the family" as an excuse because he already threatened to scream and would have done it during the first time(also older brother could have fought back A LOT harder back then, there was no threat to his life). He doesn't even seem to have any strong relationship with either the father or stepmother either. Little brother didn't even make the effort to make older brother sympathize with him, he was hated all the way. He just went with the flow and literally conditioned himself to think: It's okay, because either "he made puppy dog eyes so I can't say no" or "it's okay if it's the last time".

I completely disagree. I found Haruki's behavior to be similar to that of actual rape victims.

He couldn't have broken it off easily. That's something that's easier said than done. I don't blame Haruki for anything he's done because he is the victim of his brother and he's just trying to deal with the trauma. His behavior has changed from how he behaved initially because those efforts were not even once successful in allowing him to get away. Haruki is mentally worn out and has little fight left in him. Haruki is not giving in to Hikaru's sad looks, he actually thinks those tears just an act. Hikaru has made him powerless to the point where he sees no way out. Haruki feels there is no point in fighting it anymore because Hikaru is going rape him anyways. It’s like he’s on auto-pilot, allowing his body to go through the motions but his mind is not there while it happens, just like when he was cutting the apple. It's not like Haruki has anything to live for anymore. He has no job, no significant other, an unaware family, and an abusive brother. That seems like reason enough to give up.

I don't understand, how was he making a mistake when Hikaru was the one raping and blackmailing him? Haruki's only recently given up on fighting. In chapter 11 he yelled at Hikaru to leave, threw a book at him, and in the end Hikaru still forcefully kissed him. If their mother hadn't walked in it could have easily escalated to his rape. Hikaru has raped Haruki regardless of how hard he fought back. Haruki tried avoiding Hikaru which led to his rape on Christmas Eve. Realistically, rape victims aren't swinging their fists or screaming at the top of their lungs when they are raped and after multiple rapes they may no longer have the will to fight back. Haruki's response was not as abnormal as you think it is. I think the answers are there you just don't see them.

Reread chapter 3: He fought back once, Hikaru got scared because they were at Haruki's apartment and could easily be overheard the little bitch is scared of getting caught. Then he got forced to look after the house, where he actually got raped, then the days after that. First rape. Okay, he wasn't expecting that, but the consecutive times, did the story give an actual reason for him to stay in the house aside from "lol parents made me babbysit a fucking teenager?" NOPE.

He then gathers the courage to just say "fuck it, I don't care if you're telling our parents" and fucks off, then suddenly backs down because he was caught on cam? Did he look like he was enjoying sucking dick that much?

After getting raped again, he manages to get away from his family. Oh look, he's somewhat recovered because he doesn't have to be anywhere around his brother. Why did he take his stepmother's invitation for a vacation when he knows that the rapist is going to be in the same house? He doesn't seem to have strong connections with either his father or the stepmother. He wasn't even pressured to go. There is ZERO reason to go, but why? Then why did he unlock his door when he knew that Hikaru was on the other side? He gave a flimsy reasoning of thinking that maybe Hikaru has changed the next day, but couldn't he have confirmed while talking through a door? Did he think that his repeat felon of a brother would have a cupcake saying "i'm sowwy" as a peace offering?

There's a thing called responsibility for oneself. If a guy gets mugged walking through a shifty part of the city, he would normally avoid that place the next time. If the person keeps on coming back to that shitty alleyway and gets himself mugged every goddamn time, it's as much as his fault as it is the criminals. And to reiterate, there are also rape victims who get entrapped, get conditioned, and develop stockholm's and I feel sorry for people who actually have those disabilities. This manga, however, didn't entrap him well enough to give him that excuse, there are too many open doors in his prison.

Tbh I agree with you. You will get heat for this opinion (victim blaming and such) but..yeah I see your point. Read Bitter Virgin or A cruel god reigns to see what characters actually trapped in their situation looks like. This guy is like those characters in horror movies who instead of running out the front door they run up the stairs. My initial sympathy is annoyance now. I feel shitty for feeling that way but..yeah. Maybe I'm just frustrated idk.
