Is the ML more likeable in the novel? I don't like to drop stories but I just binged this and these characters are boring me

The sudden change to smiles and fluff made me cringe a lot I won't lie, this needed a couple more chapters to develop a satisfying ending.

Damn I wonder if the author got tired of the readers, that ending felt a little rushed and not satisfactory at all. Like "boom! Here's your fucking end game now leave me alone" type of chapter, or maybe the publishing contract had a max of 100 chapters. I hope they keep drawing though because the art is beautiful
She’s been harassed and called all sorts of names for like 4 years but it’s especially horrible right now with people having doxxed her, telling her to die, and telling her to never write again, amongst other things, all because they didn’t like the endgame. I love her art too! I hope she’ll be back after resting enough and do another BL.

I usually drop stories with amnesia arcs but this was so goofy I might actually stay and see how the author will handle it
The tags don't do this plot justice so to anyone wondering:
There's very dubious consent, almost bordering on rape but with plausible justification and it's part of the plot. There's also MPREG! I didn't know this and was very surprised, but even though I'm not a fan of Mpreg I wasn't bothered by it. There are curses, split personalities, mental breakdowns, and moments of insanity, but it manages to remain a relatively wholesome story.
Imo the story started out a little weak and I almost dropped it but the author somehow pulls it off, the characters are well written even if a little trope-y at times but around the end of season 1 the characters show very interesting development (at least for this type of story) and when the fantasy/supernatural side really kicked in I was hooked.
Maybe an 8.5/10 but it was fun and I will re-read it just to see if I missed anything in the character's behavior through the story.
