guys in the afterword from s1, the author literally said they wanted to write something about the “banality of loving even through extreme circumstances”; in other words, less plot more just cheesy, every day ts. think of this as more slice of life rather than plot. it just so happens to have the setting of the grim reaper n death, to keep things interesting, but that isn’t the point of the story.
for a slice of life, i think this setting is perfect. i mean yeah at times it’s tew much smut, but there is also slight character development in it, too. for instance, seowoo’s initial inexperienced but bold character turning into aWHOOOOOORRREEEE FOR MR REAPER (valid, i wld, too).

lol i jst started reading a lot of isekai/transmigration/shounen and stuck with it for many years, losing interest in yaoi
i literally felt that empty feeling in my chest after i finished this manhwa…i think this is one of the best manhwas i’ve ever read, yaoi or not. it’s so toxic but it’s done so well, the learning to love, the loving so much you’d trap the person, and then eventual learning to love enough to let go. what am i going to do now? hopeless. hopelessly in love. hopeless.
i’m genuinely gna crash out because it’s such a cute story!! hilde and the pretty flowers elkin puts in her hair, them dancing until night at the town festivals, the family business doing well, the northerners thriving in economy….honestly i know know why there isn’t more people enjoying this lovely lovely plot

theres no reason to hate on ijekiel but I guess ppl are hating on him because the artist didn't follow the original ending plot of the novel where athy and Lucas have a child thats why i might be wrong but thats what I saw

I didn’t know they ended up with a kid in the novel. The author really robbed us, because I’m team Lucas (no hate to Ijekiel—I love him too, but Lucas more). So I guess the author had second male lead syndrome since she still tried to make Athy end up with Ijekiel. Or maybe the author just wanted to please the Ijekiel team
