Eric asks Shell to shoot him in a certain place because its protected by a metal thing i dont really know what that is -_-' , so yeah he does shoot him but on the metal thingy so he doesn't die. Now the reason why he shot him is because the humans and vampires needed a common enemy that was neither human nor vampire so they could have peace.
