i actually like that they aren’t making her completely op and aura farming right away. she found the ideal mentor and is also actively trying to learn which i love.
idc about anything i just need the butler and me in a room in which there are no others.
i actually like how it’s implied that rachel herself had a terrible father which is why she parents so terribly to all of her children. while FL was actively abused, the eldest was never told her true origin and was given preferential treatment while the youngest is trying to prove herself to be more worthy than any of her siblings bc she barely gets attention. just a breeding ground for crazy.
the fourth wall break with the narrator… oh it’s about to get crazy
eveybody hating but this is fun honestly. i don't care much about the romance as much as seeing where the author will take this plot. they've established fl to be unlikable but also someone deeply cynical and insecure where poverty ruled over her life before she realized her looks.
here's some things i've noticed:
her mothers first action after her dad passed was getting his life insurance. when it came to her newly wed home she wanted her mom to know especially most likely since she inherited her materialism from her mom.
she doesn't believe in love, only that men and women play a role in a relationship but there is no sincerity. even her actual dream of going into art went unrealized since she came to the conclusion she will be talented enough or live off it.
her pre-weightloss self was deeply lonely and untrusting and losing the weight only pushed her to play a character but she never shook the wariness of others. even while claiming to be beautiful she is ashamed she has nothing else to show for herself than her looks and feels resigned to only supporting the man next to her.
most of her so called "bad actions" exist only in the form of thought. yeah she is trying to 'seduce' her manager but she has not actually done anything as of yet. she could be considered a gold digger but she genuinely does want to spend time with someone as seen by her feeling upset that her bf wasn't there for her birthday. she is nice to his mom and even with how she thinks about her friends, she did help one with her blind date right away and doesn't avoid them.
my thoughts: she is a deeply insecure individual with trauma regarding money and poverty who is using her looks to get by which she dismisses but its genuinely eating her inside. this plot of a rude and mean fiance and his family 'tormenting' the mc isn't new but this approach to make her very aware but simply unable to do anything due to class is very interesting.
yumin and hyeondo being equally obsessed with eachother is so funny and cute to me. hyeondos is more obvious to others with his acts of devotion but yumin is not fooling anyone. she wants to eat at his restaurant to see him, always wants to know what he’s up to, suggesting they go and visit places even after her ex contacted her. was planning on taking hyeondo to the musical before she realized he was working, lost her cool thinking her fav actress and hyeondo might have something going on, KISSED HIM when she felt jealous over people talking about him when his video went viral.
she wants that mad BADDD
