Originally, Han Gyul was fated to the gangster, but Eunhan (ML) cut their thread. A shaman told the gangster he could still claim his fated pair if he fixed the broken thread.
The gangster then met Han Gyul and his older brother. Since his thread with Han Gyul was already cut, he fell in love with Han Gyul’s older brother instead. This is why he is now approaching Hangyul he wants to be with Han Gyul’s older brother and is trying to sever Han Gyul’s bond with Eunhan, even if it means killing Eunhan.
My heart breaks for Hangyul he was suffering since he was a child and everyone's around him are just selfish

The Shaman mentioned that The Gangster need to break Hangyul and Eunhan ties, In order for him to be happy.. This is why his approaching Hangyul, and this is his way of proving his Love for Hangyul Hyung
This just shows that they love Hyesung, but no one ever truly understands him and that’s the saddest part of all.
