Couldn't agree more. Plus I think there's a reason he can't see his mother, she might be dead. Though its funny how Chouko is having ninja line up for her to be there master, though its understandable with her attitude and how she treats them (more than just a tool).

I agree, but later on you find out that is his grand uncle and not his actual father. Thought that doesn't help with the twisted physical/mental beatings.
After a looong time I found the manga witch is not getting boring after few series. More than that Mairunovich is getting more and more interesting and I start to like Mairu more, even the change of her hairstyle is something refreshing and it suits her a lot! :) Keep up the good work mangaka :) Thank you for Mairunovich!
P.S.: I hope that Tenyuu and Mairu will be a couple one day :)
