I very much I agree to this because even though, she really did test my patience with her tactics. It is undeniable she is the most villain doing her villain thing and doing it for the love of the game. No sad background or anything, which makes it refreshing to read.

To bring her back, he must kill all the monsters roaming the dungeons. He has done it more than 300 times (turning back time over 300 times!) though I cannot remember the exact number.
For Irene, this is her second life, but for Michael, it is an endless loop.
Through all those attempts, his body absorbed dark magic because he lacked a purifier partner to heal him. Irene is the only one purifier in his life.
In other words, he would go berserk as the dark magic polluted his body for hundreds of years. Eventually, the monsters recognized him as their king, as the dark magic residing in his body is the same energy that flows through them. Whenever he unleashes his true power, comes into contact with a monster or loses his sanity, his eyes sometimes turn red. However, he can control this at will so that Irene is able to purify him.
So he met Irene a thousand times and she died in all of them?
From what I heard, which is slightly different, he had to kill many monsters to grant his wish and went to different parallel universes to find his Irene. Not reverse time. Remember she asked if he wanted to return to his original world? He doesn't want to go there because Irene of that world is no longer living. Most of them died in other worlds and had to kill monsters again to find her but in this one he was not too late and why it is her second life- the ring brings her soul to that world where she is alive. I am reading the novel so I will learn more later.
True! It wasn't really to reverse time but he was searching for Irene in another universe. The Irenes he met in those parallel universes either didn't truly exist, didn't share the same soul or had already died. Still, his mission remained the same, that is to kill all the monsters all over again.
After more than 300 attempts, he finally met the original Irene again.

In this parallel universe, Michael has not yet been corrupted by dark magic and is still alive. At some point, this universe's Michael and the original Michael will clash because this world cannot contain two Michaels or more accurately, because the universe recognizes the original Michael as an intruder. Ultimately, the original Michael decides to disappear, allowing the current Michael and Irene to reunite in a world he created just for her.
The monsters seen in previous chapters (the tentacles and the appraisal hand) are actually the most important supporting characters in the story. They are the ones who help Irene reconnect with the original Michael.
