I have a theory that the duke was also a regressor and that he also tried to seduce the emperor. Theres no reason why the author would make him say that they were similar in many ways, and leave out details on HOW similar they are. He says he harbors deep contempt with the crown prince, which i think implies that his cycles end when the crown prince is born. The reason why he is obsessed with the King (the picture room) was because of that exact reason. Our MC became obsessed with the Original ML after multiple attempts in getting with Daphine. He tried everything, killing the ML, seducing the FL, changing the original plot, and many more. Right now, the only thing we know (from our MC's experience) that can progress the plot without forcing a cycle reset is chasing after/secuding the ML.

I think that in this timeline, Duke Chesika seduced the king, stole his heart from the queen, and when the crown prince was born, finally broke the repeating cycles. Additionally, I actually think that the duke deliberately tried to kill the queen in this cycle, because he spent so much time trying to win her over, his love for her became contempt, to which became hate. ADDITIONALLY ADDITIONALLY, i think that it goes the opposite way aswell; he spent so much time trying to destroy the king, that his hatred for him turned into curiosity, which turned into love. This would explaing why despite the claims of the duke that he was in love with the queen, he harmed the queen instead of the king.

It would go like this:

-Original Duke Chesika Cycle/s: Duke Chesika loves the queen. She gets with the king. time passes. the queen gives birth to ML. The Cycle Resets. (Or if he kills the king)

-Current & Last Duke Chesika Cycle: Duke Chesika Seduces the king. Poisoned the queen, harming her health. Time passes. Queen gives birth to ML and dies. (questionable part, a bit crackhead type theory) The heart of the king is split for the Duke and the Queen; the cycle doesnt reset.

I lean in the theory that the duke doesn't actually love the queen in the end, but we might need more story and context for that >:)))))
