I’m not surprised that this has a sad ending. The entire story so far screams melancholy, anguish, and impending doom. Also, it won’t be the first or the second time that BWAT manhwas broke my heart or made me cry.
I hypothesize that either both will die or Shuraka will sacrifice his life to save Tei. The betrayal will probably come from either one of Shuraka‘s brothers or his nephew.
Alternatively, it could be that Tei will betray Shuraka to protect his family and his homeland, and that betrayal may stem from Shuraka‘s brothers threatening Tei’s homeland or his younger half-brother.
I haven’t read this since August 2023, and Max still hasn’t changed. I guess I’ll wait until August 2026 to check again and see if there's been any visible growth from Max before I attempt to read this again.
That's not really true. She now expressing these insecurities to Riftan and isn't bottling them up as much as before. She's braver and stronger than before. It's a realistic change for someone who's only known abuse and belittling her whole life. She's not a badass like the princess but she's growing for sure
It’s still too little. Misunderstandings are still taking place, and she is still belittling herself. How long does she plan on keeping that going? Rifton is sincere; He has always been sincere. He has proven to her, shown her time and time again that he has her back in every situation; but still, she sits there in her misery, doubt, and self-hatred. Yes, she does open up somewhat, but it’s not enough.
He has told, her shown her, that he chose her on his own accord. No one forced him. He wanted her and the princess. And you’re telling me that she cannot trust her husband enough to let him know how terrible her childhood was? How was she abused by her father? Rifton would love to know what’s going on in her head and she’s just sitting there wallowing in that dark place.
That is exhausting for me much less for him
Well as I said, she's known nothing but abuse and how much time plotwise has she spend NOT being abused? I think a year maybe, in universe. And at first Riftan was cruel too, i know he's trying, but if she had a husband with a truly gentle demeanor I'm sure she wouldn't have been so cautious. Words and even actions mean nothing to a damaged mind.
2( I meant that they can mean nothing for a certain time cuz she's so so afraid to believe that something actually good is happening to her. It's common for victims of abuse to feel unworthy of such care and Riftan's "you've been pampered all your life like a princess" isn't helping. She feels dirty and she feels like if he finds out she will lose the one person who she cherishes with all her heart. So yea, I think even though it's not on purpose, Riftan has some fault in this lack of closure as well. Remember when she had a wish of her own for the first time- to learn magic? Riftan almost exploded with rage. Like come on maaan, I love him too but yk

Super cute! (▰˘◡˘▰)
