idk if it’s just me, but i prefer the second ml currently. the ml kinda gives me a… greasy(?) feeling. idk if that would even be the right word to describe how i’m feeling, but there’s just smth abt him that i dislike, that i cant pinpoint. like he genuinely doesn’t seem that bad. maybe it’s because of the lack of consent when he’s with fl (loll but honestly when reading these types of stories, it would be surprising if there was consent) and the lack of information abt him rn. not a bad manga tho, excited for the next chapter.

i already know that at the end of this series, her leaving is going to be useless. they’re still gonna end up together anyway. but despite this, i still have that tiny bit of hope that she’ll be away from him, and happier. if anything, this arc is just gonna make him more possessive, and he’s never gonna let her away from his sight again. love him suffering though.

the pacing is a bit off in my opinion. i feel like we’re just rushing through a lot of events/plot points without fully exploring everything before moving on. i do like some of the characters, and the story doesn’t seem all that bad, i just wish the execution was better. overall it’s alright.
maybe it’s just me, but i feel like winter isn’t ready for a relationship yet. he’s currently not emotionally well because of all the trauma and PTSD that he’s been bottling up for a long time. i think rather than being in a relationship, he needs more of a friend to confide in. i also think the “feelings” winter has for the ml is more like mistaking care and kindness for love. the ml has been looking out and caring for winter throughout the whole story. i think especially since winter has been kinda lacking that for a while/prevented himself from receiving any sort of assistance from others, the ml is more filling in that missing role for him, rather than being a potential romantic partner. maybe it was the pacing for me that’s making me think this, or just me misinterpreting or misreading, but i feel winter didn’t really get to know the ml before developing those feelings, besides just that he is always willing to help.
the ml i also feel like isn’t quite ready yet either. he seems to lack emotionally intelligence, and i don’t think they would be a good match in their current states. overall, THEY GOT STUFF TO IMPROVE ON/SORT OUT. you can’t care for another person unless you care for yourself first.

I like the fact that the ML is actually a green flag and is treating her well. usually in josei the ML is absolute trash, but he’s definitely breaking that standard. wish more josei stories were like this one.
