I reread that recently and I remember finding it annoying when he was like "He has no reason to say no to drinking" and thinking "him not wanting to is reason enough lol like he doesn't want to" and I have noticed a lot of the people in these stories have that sense of "oh I have to do it cuz this person in a higher position is asking me to do it and it would be rude to say no" like maybe it's rude for them to force that on you if you don't want it lol. It's definitely a cultural thing that I have noticed that I am glad doesn't exist in my culture (Well with younger people at least, definitely have that "respect your elders" thing with older folks but not with someone who's just in a higher position than you) cuz I would be so irritated that someone thinks they have the right to try and force it on me just cuz theyre my "superior" lol
