i think it was a love tri(angle). guy A likes guy C. they're friends and guy A is overprotective over guy C bcs guy A thought guy B likes guy C but as it turns out, the one who guy B likes is guy A.

any slice of life/comedy lighthearted manga about highschool students without romance that focuses more on school life (academic stuff) and friendship of the same gender? preferably not a sports manga, no kid characters and has not been adapted to anime yet.
