Or, crazy fucking thought, the translator could ask for help from a proofreader, who can pretty much be any native English speaker.

There really is no excuse for a terrible translation. There's tons of people who can help with this.

Okay you should offer your self than, as a native english speaker you definitely have enough time to do that. If you have enough time to wine and bitch than appreciate something than go right ahead go to their website and offer your services. Their always looking for new people. :3
And while you're at it you could learn how to translate it as well, gives us fans the best translation ever. Cause translation takes a few seconds to do and anyone in the whole word could do it, right?
Any more advice you have for the bad translator? Cause as an english god you have so much to say! Maybe you could also correct my spelling and grammar mistakes while your at it. <3 Oh wait, you said "their is no excuse right"? So you must be a top-tier translator right? Jesus sorry for thinking you were a whiny bitch. Tell me all the manga's you have translated please. I want to compare the differences.

#1. I've posted once in this thread, and it was the one you replied to, which didn't have the "their/there" mistake.
#2. I am a proofreader for several groups already, but still regularly reach out to individuals and small groups to offer help, usually with no response.
#3. I'm also learning to typeset to help more.

But please, go ahead. Reply to mine and make yourself look like a fool for assuming. And please, do tell, what have you done to help the release of quality manga scanlations aside from being a jerk in the comments section to anyone asking for a little better quality? Hmm?

I would have definitely offered my services but i am not Native English Speaker so i've rather not <3 I don't want a bitch to bark on my english because it's not "Top Tier"... I am all good but thank you for asking.

It's not about asking for a better quality. It's about being thankful for having something that's free, i agree the english isn't good but it doesn't necessarily mean you have be an asshole about it. I am the type of person that appreciates things i get. But it's something you're entirely lacking Ma'am. Oh and your comment stood out so i had to reply to yours. You're a special person for me! :3

OP indicates that they somewhat liked it, but negatively comments (in a pretty light manner) on the translation.

2 (kinda 3) people jump on this person, including one screaming in all caps, about how terrible the OP.

I stand up to the screamer, pointing out that proofing is a simple but overlooked aspect of doing scanlations.

You attempt to insult and degrade me. I point out that you're wrong. And yet... somehow I'm again being insulted by childish, over-the-top sarcasm by someone who hides by only commenting anonymously.

I love being childish and sarcastic is the only time i have fun in the comments section :3 Oh and i post anonymously cause it takes to much time to make an account, add your email and plug in a password. Jesus i could save those few seconds writing dumb comments and reading manga of course. Oh and the screamer with all caps wasn't offending the bad translations more like defending it didn't bother responding to her 0.o

I agree with you. This translation is comprehensible, so it isn't that bad. But people have the right to point out that it's flawed. People get really sensitive if you criticize a translation or typesetting. I've also done both proofreading and typesetting before. Even times when I've offered to help in a comment, people will downvote or jump on my back. Even if I give tips, people jump on my back. There's always going to be sensitive people who can't handle legitimate criticism, even if it's directed at someone else. Honestly, if someone is fine with sub-par work and think there's no reason to desire better because they're reading for free or can't read raws, that's fine. If every fan translation/scanlation was of sub-par quality, maybe there'd be no
reason to raise concerns. But there are people who take it seriously and put a lot of work into it. So we know when there's room for someone else's improvement. But god forbid we suggest one another improve. God forbid we even consider someone else capable of improvement. God forbid we want to make things more enjoyable for ourselves and other readers.
