Like he purposely said/revealed it that way to compell Shibe's dad to kill him.
Maybe he wants to die at his hands to end all the mayhem and to atone for whatever shit he's started. (Or 'cause he's fucking tired of it and they're never gonna leave him alone anyways)
Or maybe I just can't accept that after 100+ chapters, if this is the ENTIRE truth, it feels hella anticlimatic (so I keep waiting for the plot twist)
