it is literal torture to read this but i cant stop.. God i HATE the bf. smth about the art and the way the panels are drawn makes this story feel a lot more impactful than most revenge on cheating whore type of stories.

Reading the comments lowkey kept me more entertained than this manhwa, NOT to say that it’s bad in particular.. it’s just rather dry? EXCELLENT artwork but the storyline is a little drab and I’ve read better manhwas.
At first I didn’t really like the ml and cringed when he toyed with our fl. I was screaming behind my screen ‘GIRL GET OVER HIMMMM’ but honestly now he’s growing on me. He’s a little more attentive to her now and is I guess(?) communicating his feelings a little better. He is by far most definitely not the worst ml if anything he’s a saint compared to certain mls in manhwas I’ve read. I would say he’s a little annoying with his feelings and comes across as a huge flirt but he’s not inherently evil. I think what frustrates readers the most regarding this story is the fact that we love seeing a strong fl. Perhaps I am being presumptuous but I think we’re sick of seeing ‘submissive’ women get swayed by handsome looks and hot bods to the point that we just have a preference for fls who are immune to that sort of thing and don’t really care if the guy is hot or popular. We loooove seeing dominant and strong women and this story has the potential to do that but to see a woman reduced to being an orbiting moon around a handsome guy, just inherently feels a little misogynistic. I know for a fact I struggled reading this because I just want HIM to be head over heels for her. I want HIM to be smitten. Yknow the type, “She fell first, but he fell harder” story. Why else was Roxanna so popular? Because she was a strong, dominant fl. And being dominant doesn’t mean she’s a dominatrix but specifically, she has the power/control in situations over the man. When I say a ‘dominant’ woman, I don’t mean that she’s specifically a mommy but she can also fold for the man at the right time! I think a fair example of this could be that one manhwa ‘I want to be fooled/I want to be deceived’, where our fl isn’t a mommy but she’s strong and has a boulder like personality where she becomes immune to his charms.
Here, the fl doesn’t have the upper hand here and it’s difficult to gauge how the ml REALLY feels towards her. It makes you feel frustrated and hurt that he’s toying with her so much and nothing is directly ever said.
I’ve only read until chapter 43 so I’ve a long way to go but I’m unsure if it is really that worth it because I have other gems I think I’d rather read that better suit my preference. Maybe I’ll pick this back up another time but.. I really do prefer the 2nd ml. He’s super cute and totally my type!
the ending is so cute! if only the story was as good as the ending lol..
there’s just not much buildup or tension or anything that makes you wanna like either the ml or fl on a personal level.
i wish we got to see a build up of a friendship between choa and bin. there is soooo much potential here that’s just wasted and the story feels so rushed and the pacing is just off.
it’s kinda just there and the only good thing about it seems to be the artwork.
the fl is the best part about this!! i love her strong personality and she’s completely oblivious but i love her determination and strength! she’s so wonderful.. i hope she heals quickly :(
I’ll be honest and admit I was getting a little bored of the pacing but as I continued to read it, I realised that this is absolutely a gem. It’s well written and has an intriguing plot that continues to make you wonder what has happened for them to behave this way. It’s definitely a mystery with a mix of a psychological thriller. The pacing was off at first but the story really does pick up and I highly recommend sticking through with it. The fl is not a bad character albeit she is rather strange.. she means well with her hero mindset. Obviously there is much more to her than a saviour complex but it has something to do with her childhood or upbringing I’m assuming.
The smut isn’t necessarily the focus either and I like that it’s dealt with in an ‘adult’ manner that feels serious and realistic. It’s not drawn out to be specifically enjoyable but it has this secrecy in itself that makes it arousing when you read it. Sort of like a shameful feeling to have your heart get all flustered over someone that you haven’t come to terms with in where they stand in your life.
Her husband was odd in the way that he knew what he was getting when he married her so why is he trying so hard to change her? It’s so misogynistic and it really upsets me to see a man be so possessive over a woman and wish to control her perceptions. She’s a hero type but that’s how she is.. She’s not changing that even if she puts her life in danger because that’s just how she is. It doesn’t make her a bad person. I completely disagree with everyone saying she’s a horrible person for that. I’m sure she has her reasons to be the way she is and I know that it is selfish of her to risk her life for other people (ironically) but it’s how she is and it’s respectable because most people would turn a blind eye to those in need. This type of selfless behaviour is refreshing to see.
I truly do wonder if the ml killed her husband but we shall see.. My speculation currently is that he’s only making himself look suspicious to provoke her to fight back. He has this odd thing with her where he believes she has always held herself back. In my opinion, I think he should leave her be. He is nobody to her to provoke her in any manner that will make her reach a ‘breaking-point’.
