Here is my take. It may be missing a few details. Back when chapter 8 first came out in Japan, some Japanese fans posted some negative reactions to chapter 8 on a Japanese fan forum. Later, some people translated or mentioned these comments on an English fan forum. English fan pages started to gave discussions about how the negative comments were affecting OG and her publishers. People started posting comments to support OG. Months pass, but every so often these rumor pop back up.
At the end of chapter 11.5, OG made some comments about revising chapter 8 for the new volume being published and how Caste Heaven is not for everyone, but that she thanked all her readers. The translator made a note that maybe OG was feeling down about her work. This made many people think OG was depressed about those negative comments and that she was somehow forced to change chapter 8. Personally, I believe they misunderstood the comments and that maybe some of the original intent was lost in translation. Regarldess, people once again started posting comments supporting OG.
On this forum, some big mouth named Anoni Grrl posted that OG probably doesn't read comments on Mangago. Said big mouth just meant for people to chill, but she should have kept it to herself. Other people, meaning well, said, well if she doesn't read it here, we can show her support by Tweeting her.
Keep in mind that it has now been a long time since the original incident and the OG was completely unaware that it was an issue. She gets tweets from English fans. She doesn't understand much English and she didn't know there was any drama. From her POV, these Tweets came out of nowhere. She started blocking them.
Now people who were blocked feel hurt. They were trying to be supportive and they feel OG should have tried to understand the tweets. Internet drama ensued. It's mostly over now. OG no longer blocks people (I think someone explained it to her).
I think it was all a big misunderstanding based on Internet rumors and translation issues.
