my third re-read and its no less devastating to the soul. even going into the story knowing that yeonsung KNOWS hakyung is a guy just adds an extra layer of devastation to chapter 56, when he goes through an internal struggle about liking a boy, accepts and embraces the fact, and finally ending the chapter with ASKING HAKYUNG TO GO TO THE STATES WITH HIM SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE MEMORIES THERE. MARRIAGE. HE WAS ASKING HAKYUNG TO MARRY HIM!!! It only clicked to me this time around and i scream cried even more.
Hakyung, who's finally being given the comfort he's been looking for. Grandpa and Yeonsung, similar in every way, including the way they love, and give grace to the people who do them wrong. Eunjo, for being the sister that stepped up.

yallllll i had to swipe through the whole confession scene cause wtf was that i wish the author made her leave before confessing so they could both grow without the other. The romance doesnt feel organic in the slightest and its like the author just chose the most convenient FL to pair up the MC with. I wouldve loooooooved to see him with Hyejin or that Italian lady. Idk i feel like they just don't have any chemistry. I actually thought the author would set him up with his glasses law major classmate cs their banter was fun. And yes, yeonsoo has been like his no.2 supporter (after his mom) since literal childhood but that just reinforces my perception of their sibling-coded relationship. I cant see her as a potential love interest until she grows into someone who doesn't revere MC so much? IMO, he needs a peer, not a fan. I might be reading into yeonsoo and their dynamic all wrong but those are just my thoughts
