I think they really did. We been in this memory loss la la land too long lol

    LatteGratte August 4, 2026 1:01 pm

Nobody forgot he’s a psycho. They just didn’t expect the extent of his abuse towards her.

    SaltyOmelette August 4, 2026 8:50 pm

Pretty sure everyone just thought he was a yandere where in he hurts others but not the lover( T﹏T )

    Yep, exactly.

A yandere who kills, is all I'm saying. Thats another level, not normal. Expecting him not to hurt her when he gets his killer memories back is just odd to me.

lol how is it odd. Plenty of Yanderes kill but they aren’t violent towards their love interest. The whole appeal of a Yandere is that they’re violent and cruel to everyone else except their love interest. Expecting him to treat her like the exception isn't odd, that’s literally the entire point of the trope.

Ummmm, memory loss trope. He's only nice to her right now because he doesn't remember that he's a psycho killer. When he first met her he literally tried to kill her just like he would anybody else. She wasn't special before the memory loss, she was about to be his next murder victim. So YES it's odd to me that people are so shocked by his future behavior when his memory returns and along with it his violent killer tendencies.

He woke up from a long coma with no identity and took on the role of husband because that is who he was told he was. Psycho killer memory comes back and he realizes she lied to him about his entire identity, what else would he do? Give her a hug? lol

The beauty of the story is that the memory loss gave him a chance to be different and created a space for them to fall for each other. That probably wouldn't have happened without it. She would have just been dead. For now at least, he's a killer who gets to experience love through the magic of fictional memory loss.

I feel like what I'm saying is being misinterpreted here. You keep explaining WHY he became abusive again, but nobody is actually disputing that. We understand. Killers memories returned, she lied about his identity, etc etc etc. People aren’t reacting to that. A killer reverting to violence is understandable within the story's logic. But he doesn't just treat her like any other victim, instead, he uses his intimate knowledge of her to hurt her in ways that would wound her most deeply. The reason why people are so shocked lies within how he went out of his way to make her suffer so personally + that he only started to repent when she gets pregnant.

I'm not misinterpreting and we are going in a circle now. But oh well.

My annoyance still lies with the commenters who are all "how could he?" As if a violent person reacting violently (no matter the degree) is soooo shocking and it's not. Like being shocked when a cheater cheats or when a thief steals. Yes he makes her suffer, like a crazy psycho killer would. It's honestly more surprising he doesn't just kill her. But that's the love story part and I appreciate that.

I think some of you just don't like it and that's your prerogative. But being like "yes we know he's a killer but we didn't think he was a KILLER killer" is what some of these people sound like and it's hilariously odd.

I'm not really trying to argue at this point, I just think you're being a little unfair to the other commenters. And to your cheater/thief comparison, yes, violent people do violent things. But the shock here, again, isn't that he was violent. It's that the violence was so specifically targeted at her. Cheaters cheat, but we'd still be shocked if a cheater went out of their way to destroy everything their partner loved most in the process. He used everything he learned about her during the amnesia to hurt her in the most personal ways possible. That is what is so shocking. So "yes we know he's a killer but not a KILLER killer" isn't really what people are saying. They expected killer, and didn’t expect him to weaponize his love for her against her.

    Sigh. Going in circles.

Im just going to throw my perspective on this and dont know if others resonate with it as well

But the reason why I was shocked specifically was not because he became a psycho killer again after his memories returned but more that his actions didnt change even just a little for our MC and actually got even more violent towards her

What tends to happen in memory loss stories is that the memories from when they lost it and when they return would somehow merge and end up softening the ML little by little towards the MC
However here it obviously doesnt follow that

And also there have been plenty of stories like this where the ML is a Yandere psycho who kills anyone whenever wherever however would not hurt and would do anything for MC. So ofc I would also think that this would be one of them hence the disappointment.

Awww Gaon needs a hug! And emotional support, and therapy, and all the love. Such a good kid and good friend who's been through so much. And so mature in her thinking. Though that "maturity" was mostly harmful to her childhood, it's also what allows her to see that they aren't actually good for each other even as friends. He's probably gonna throw a tantrum and blame MC when she leaves.
