What Shuraka has done is similar ish to what actually happened to the ottomans. However it weakened the throne so much and really was a huge underlying reason for their downfall. Unfortunately killing your brothers and only the strongest ruling makes for a very strong and capable sultan/ruler. For the ottomans they actually started locking up the other brother with only mute concubines and servants, which meant that if the sultan died with no heir the next person to rule came from there and was half crazy. I understand why he did it but it is what made Arnata strong.
