I don’t think he’d care if MC died if he didn’t have strong feelings for him. He’s seen plenty of other people die without these problems.

I think it's a case of how Hohyun's personality is and all the repeated times Youngwon has survived and died with him. That and I don't think Youngwon gets reset like the others do since he tends to remember what has happened all the times before yet Hohyun's memory is wiped clean.
To Hohyun it feels like a short period of time, but for Youngwon it's probably been months now since the cycle repeat has been going on.
