If you think about it, even though the reincarnated MC didn't do anything to the ML, she's still perceived as the 'villainess' who would do anything to get the ML - such as manipulating/blackmailing him and stalking him. Her sudden change of character wouldn't absolve MC for the things she did in the past as the villainess, but I get why it would intrigue ML; I just think it's a bit anti-climatic for both the MC and ML to say their goodbyes from their toxic pseudo "relationship," just for them to get back together anyway. It's a common trope with these reincarnated villainess stories too so it's just getting dull, a twist would definitely be nice for a change.
