Kinda happy that we're getting back into the plot where Kay doesn't actually love zeildral in the slightest and is just adapting to the situation and is tolerating him. I honestly don't want them to happy a fully happy relationship I like the fact kay doesn't like the Duke and is just entertaining/tolerating him while as entertaining himself and I like how the Duke is a ruthless man and has an obsession with Kay and obsession he calls love. In a weird way you call this a dark romance? I understand why people would drop this i honestly don't blame you all in the slightly I just personally in enjoy their dynamic. Let this be any other bl Kay would've had Stockholm syndrome or the Duke would've had a sad backstory. But instead of that we have Kay a former royal who is just trying to live his life and not asking for more than he wants to work for and you the Duke who is strong, ruthless and a flat out psychopath who doesn't even know how to spell the word mercy who's was in a dilemma about his new found feels for Kay. Their relationship isn't good cause it's romantic it's good cause Kay actually has a brain and knows their relationship realistic isn't possible and is something he doesn't actually desire. He just fancy the Duke sometimes but overall wants nothing to do with him.
Read this for a second time and I can say will all my heart reading past chapter maybe 23 or 25 is a waste. The mystery and the world building is GONE! I have to admit I liked the weird relationship between the MC and ML I don't support it realistically but from a story telling point of view it was like really shocking to read the ML mindset. Their was constant low tension but tension nonetheless between the MC and ML and that was interesting. I also loved see Kay's thought on his "relationship" with the male lead and how he knew realistically their relationship wasn't possible and how it wasn't a genuine relationship he desired from the ML. Despite thought interesting factors it fell apart because of mpreg....whatever im not new to that type of stuff but I was still disappointed to see it. What pisses me off yet leaves me pleased is that kays thoughts on the Duke never changed. He still doesn't desire an actual relationship with the Duke but understands he enjoyed some of their sexual and interactions but understand that all that's their, the sex. I said in my first review that everything including kays simple yet comedic personality and how he interacted with the world was thrown to the side and I stick by this. If you want a decent read with dark themes like noncon and a ML that's genuine insane, sure, read this you will NOT be disappointed but if you're looking for those things to be constant just walk the other way.
I agree sm i read this while it was still ongoing and i honestly believed there was so much potential in the ml character development and how he goes from experiencing lustful flings that never hold because of his lack of interest in his partners to actually falling in love and having so much curiosity and enthusiasm about one person and actually creating a bond, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be considering how their relationship even started and it’s like all logic and reason is THROWN OUT THE WINDOW when kay was non-consensually impregnated it’s like wtf are we doing i mean as if kay wasn’t upset by their relationship enough, and instead of winning his love the ml just baby traps him unromantic love story final boss
Ngl I so had a feeling that the younger brother had a crush on the MC but since it was never expanded on until now I just assumed his actions was just something to fill in the not super plot relevant sections of the story or just weird character writting but to literally read the MC saying "What kind of guy jerks off to his own hyung" literally had my jaw on the floor i knew something like this would happen but like DAMN
