i love this story soooo much. well i personally like story with egyptian/arabian desert-ish setting so this one is up my alley.
and soooo after i lock tf in for 2 days straight reading that 191 chapters novel, here's some important points about the 3 main characters origin:
BACKGROUND STORY amon: dragon, has been living 700+ years before meeting nain. he has been a god who was worshipped by his devotees that wasn't in trastasa! he was worshipped because after giving up looking for mate, he just stand unmoving in one place with best sunlight (LMAO), humans then found him and amazed with his immortality hence they worship him. in short, humans just automatically worship him because he's divine and humans are just dumb like that
gwen: mage from labyrinth. 300+ years old. in the manhwa he said that he's originally from Sola, but later it's revealed his real origin is from Egypt (not specifically mentioned Egypt but it's said his homeland is desert-ish similar to Trastasa and the has a goddess of war probably sekhmet?). just like Eyra from I Can See You Stats!, he is also isekaied?reincarnated?-kinda. he died as 37yo employee worker in modern world due to overwork exhaustion (lmao). he got reincarnated as a 5yo child with poor family situation. a mage from labyrinth later found out his mage skill and recruited him as gwen make promise that once hes in labyrinth, his family will be taken care of. FUNFACT: it's mentioned that mage never forget their past-life, and they can live for hundreds/thousands year
nain: has been amon mate for for hundred years, used to be a normal human, just a fisherman in village called Jesra (which turns out the same village as Iwu!). nain village raided by amon's devotees, nain offers himself to be sacrificed because the devotees demand "young human blood". nain then tortured but not yet killed until amon revives him->swallowed then regurgitated. from this point, nain is no longer human
i actually noted some more including all the important arcs HAHAH but i think that will be too spoilery(?) so yeah this what i can tell you! i'm looking forward to the manhwa as well cause the art is sauuurrr gewwdddd and im so curious how they will depict what is narrated in the novel. i hope they will finish the manhwa without rushing it!
similar to how it is in "I Can See You Stats!", dragon immediately knows their mate the moment they are born! about amon's impression, this is how it's said on the novel
At first, Amon paid little attention—many humans had approached him with gifts and chatter. But inexplicably, everything about Nain became gradually appealing:
The reverent gaze lifting to him, the hands arranging bouquets, the sweat-damp hair clinging to forehead and cheeks, the voice calling his name. And above all—that intoxicating scent carried on the wind whenever Nain walked through the woods.
[..]
Time, already fleeting, seemed to accelerate after meeting Nain. Gradually, Amon began listening to his words. Things that had never interested him before became mildly engaging when seen through Nine’s eyes and voice.
