I think it's just me but at the end of the story adele really annoyed me. She expected the Duke to give her everything she wants and was acting like the duke was in the wrong even though he told her about his past trauma and how it was hard she just threw it aside like it was nothing. She needs to realise that not everything was the dukes fault. He sacrificed so much for her and she repayed him by being selfish and arrogant. She really pissed me off.
You've articulated my exact feelings about the ending. I understand to an extent why Adele acted the way she did, but the girl was reaching w/ how she went about things - like could she have not backed off or sumn to give the Duke time to understand how he felt instead of being selfish by disregarding the Duke's feelings/trauma?

Yes I also think that she was a bit too much at the end
I understand what you are saying, but first he needed some shock to awake and to not take her love as granted. Second, like de webtoon says, it was something political too, since because of the story between him, Adelaide and Susan was so complex, people start a lot of rummors about the MC and with a hugh proposal it wouldn't be any space to doubt the legitimacy of their fellings. Last, the fact that he had a trauma doesn't justify him treating her less or to excuse himself, you are forgetting that if she wasn't smart enough she could've died just because she was trying to help de duke, so her attitude isn't that selfish and arrogant in the end.

1. pretty over the top. she was just petty cause he wasn't spending as much time with her because he was busy at court. 2. could she not have talked it out with him? like hey, let's make a scene to stop all political rumors or some shit. 3. since when did he ever treat her any less? he's basically been tiptoeing around her the whole time.
I for one see her attitude as being entitled and controlling. she wants to always be at the benefit of the relationship which is, in a way, a defense mechanism. to put it simply, she's very guarded with her emotions.
"if he won't put effort I won't either" "if he's gonna break up with me, I'll break up with him first" "I won't be the one who gets hurt the most in this relationship"
in a relationship, you're supposed to deal with problems TOGETHER. but no, she doesn't want to end up being the fool who loves her lover most. that's pretty selfish and arrogant.
