Like for me that story is only readable post-redemption and if you just completly disregard the pre redemption because it kinda feels like a "he had a sad backstory so now he has to be forgiven for doing unspeakable things to the mc" typa deal which doesn't justify anything and weirdly treated like being gay is caused due to trauma of seeing your parents cheat somehow?? Like yeah he started being good to the MC afterwards but still I don't remember his past actions being brought up again (but I also dropped it so I might be quite wrong)
