I thought Laura was still alive. I remember a scene where Cedric's grandfather says something when reminiscing and Cedric's like don't talk about her like she's dead. Am I making this up?

I don't mind this story, but it feels like a completely different character (Takeo). And the author should have addressed the crush he had on Ao early in the story.
