i know many people see red hair dude as a villain, but i think it’d be a disservice to the author to view him as a character without nuance. drugs do so much harm to a person. i’ve only ever smoked weed but just doing a “light” drug like that made me spiral into deep depressions, and irritable towards people i love. i think this guy dug a huge grave for himself, and would like to add that he thought about the ml when he was making the money, of course by distributing drugs, which is an inherently selfish act. he was already on a bad path, getting into a gang of sorts, and is obviously led by self serving desires, however still cares about his people. he is twisting, in my opinion, brotherly love for some type of distorted lust, which makes sense, as he’s lonely, and his only close friend is back into his life. i don’t condone him, obviously, just want to bring some dimension, as his character isn’t linear! ok bai
condoning or not, dimensions or not, it still doesnt allow him to ruin other peoples lives. getting help and rehab is an option afterall
putting yourself into rehab is something a healthy person would do, however someone who habitually does drugs isnt healthy, and likely doesn’t want to stop. that’s why it usually takes intervention, someone putting YOU into rehab, like my mom did for me, because i didn’t want to stop. he literally had nobody around him who cared about his wellbeing, so an intervention was never in the cards for him. also i said i do not condone him, meaning i don’t think his actions were justified, furthermore he did not have the right to ruin peoples lives. i hope this didn’t come off snobbish, i wanted to explain that “getting help” isn’t as easy as people think, and that i don’t believe he is a justifiable character, just that he isn’t a clean-cut villain
genuinely cried 5 times i feel so much for myungha i love him and how much love the author poured into his character ugh this was such a good night binge read (not to mention he’s genuinely so beautiful i kept falling in love with him ╥﹏╥ )
