Well... that went a bit fast. While it does push past a lot of unnecessary separation, I would've liked to have seen the progression of Hayate realizing his feelings.
It just seems like they breezed passed it & went straight to it. Though, it could be shown later, but meh ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
Now it's just a question of how the story will progress from here. What are the challenges now? Will Hayate still be reserved even after what he said? Will Takashi be the one to push him away this time? Ah... the possibilities.
