There was this one anime directed by Isao Takahata and animated by Hayao Miyazaki(he worked on the anime before creating studio ghibli). Its called Heidi. Its a comforting anime about a girl living in the mountains and basically having a good time(yes there is a plot though the anime is not necessarily story driven). I dont think it was popular in America, the eng dub is pretty shit so I reccomend watching the Spanish or japanese dub.
