Picked back up- I haven’t read this manga in so
Long I was never able to finish it - however it was so peak literal chills it succeeded in places where other mangas lack. I enjoyed the female characters ( despite the fan service) I think having characters that are able to hold their own and have their goals separate from the love interest is truly what makes this manga shine. I really enjoyed the back stories of each character because what is the point of an antagonist if you can’t understand where they are coming from. All the characters are great at supporting and showing what makes Aoi as character. I’m not mad the ending It just leaves me wanting more. I’m curious as to how the author writes the side story with his brother because I feel like that wasn’t the one part that wasn’t as fleshed out. Also I loved the songs that the translators would but when the matches were going on it really set the mood lol. I’ve read a lot of sports manga and I think the greatest thing about it is how it gets your heart pumping. (my heart was racing during the last match) Though, I don’t really watch sports there is something that is so appealing and fun about sports mangas like this. I also appreciate how the author tackled issues like racism that black players face ( even though I have some criticisms on how the characters are drawn) and Asian players which I feel is often overlooked by most sports manga’s mainly because of ignorance. I feel like this was such a well rounded sports manga. You can really tell the creator put a lot of love and care into this manga. Though I really wished he picked up the cooking manga it was also very good. 400 chapters is not enough I need more
