What are you talking about? Fire fighters literally lay their lives on the line and put themselves in danger to provide rescue - that includes people and animals. Grayson was told not to leave Dane’s side. He abandoned him. Dane just got lucky finding that vent. The whole point of having the walkie talkies is to communicate to the rest of their team on the status of the building impacted by the fire so they can provide assistance if their exit is blocked. Just say you’re a coward and you would leave your partner behind at the first sign of danger. Also you know damn well if that was you passed out from inhaling smoke in a fire like that dog was you would want a fire fighter not to give up looking for you.

Btw Willkins gave 2 orders 1st was to never Dane and 2nd was to obey every single command given by Dane.
