It's bad enough if a couple brings up swapping and never do it (or shut it down; why have the author mention it then?), but it's even worse when the bottom used to be a top and gets with another top and enjoys bottoming so much isn't satisfied anymore.
The entire bl community has a negative bias towards vers couples it obvious with the small amount of it that even exists. Vers couples arent equatable to heteronormative sex life standards and its simply homophobia to exclude them really (a good amount of ppl r sexually diverse irl), if u dont think thats obvious yet u can just look at how ukes r treated like " bitchy, sassy, diva, motherly, wife" (and similar other reductive terminology associated with femininity, even tho they r rarely fem) while the semes r like any other male lead regardless of their partners gender.
Not sure which community you're part of but the BL community I see is fine with switches but prefer fixed positions. It all comes down to preference at the end of the day. And I don't know about you but fixed positions are just as common as switches irl. Just as some gays prefer bottoming only, so does some prefer to only top irl. Just because they prefer a position doesn't mean they're homophobic all of a sudden.
And I'm not gonna say the stereotypes don't exist but nowadays, the opposite applies so its definitely getting better. The bottoms are manlier and the top is more feminine.
But the thing is the amount of switches depicted in bl is def much less than irl. So its def a concious decision to show fixed positions almost 99% of the time, this is a matter of representation done by a hetero woman dominated writer/artist field, what they assume of gay people is depicted more than what gay people are like irl. So it does get homophobic at times when ur heavily insisting on making switching sound like hell for a strict top character and physically impossible for a bottom character. Its what they assume queer men are like, not what queer men are actually like irl. Ultimately what i mean is more vers couples pls, i dont care about fixed couples as they r the majority anyways.
I hope Jin-woo gets back into swimming competitively; it's very common for ukes to be fired, demoted, or quit from their profession, so I'm hoping he doesn't give it all up.
