as i'm reading the manga i keep being reminded of hinata from haikyuu and my reliance on him whenever he plays. bcs just like with hinata, whenever it seems like the opponents have the upper hand, isagi comes in with his surprising checkmate moments and his spontaneous movements and skills, leaving his opponents in utter disbelief that it satisfies so much and i eat that shit up every single time

even after re-reading a few years later it still hits hard that it ends. the emptiness will still be there after finishing that last chapter. now i remember why i wanted to try 'shifting' back in 2021
