Na in hates the idea of people sacrificing their life for them. He thinks its inhumane which it is, and can not understand why they would do all of this for him. Their people are very fanatic in the religion yk which Na in doesn’t like. This is the norm with their people. Everyone is crazy about showing or proving their loyalty to the Shahs (Na in and Amon). Na in in turn, shows interest in the gods of other continents and how their people behave. Because he cross compares their situations and thinking about what should be normal or is there really something wrong with them yk. Now a leshah is someone who serves the Shahs in the mortal realm. After a time, they get sacrificed so that their souls can serve the Shahs in the afterlife. Na in hates that human sacrifice idea. He does not want Rue a person he cares about, to be following this self sacrificial idea of proving their “loyalty” to him. But Rue does not understand what is making Na in feel this way. He thinks that becoming a leshah is the only way to appease Na in’s anger. But no one really understands Na in’s heart aside from Gwen and the guard I think…
Well all in all I love that every character in here is beautifully crafted. No one is one dimensional thank you author.

Its very satisfying to see ml suffer for centuries yk. I love tropes where the immortal falls in love with a mortal. But once they realize they were actually in love, its too late. The bottom is so real for standing on business. Like go girl leave that toxic man. Love my goat moscareto thank you for new works man.

True, but there is only 30 chapters for season 1 and IN MY OPINION of course (your feelings are valid) I feel like they did a decent job with pacing out ALL of the necessary story beats including the "groveling". For me, its less about how long the ML has had to suffer for, and more about how DEEPLY he has suffered, how MUCH he has changed, how LITTLE expectations he has for the MC now, how much SPACE and AUTONOMY the MC has to process and feel and grieve and decide if he wants to forgive or not. Also, something important to point out, the MC wished to NEVER SEE THE ML EVER AGAIN. He only saw him again because HE sought HIM out. Whether he realized it or not, his soul was ready to start the process of forgiving, which is why his own wish broke, and why the egg hatched. Its because of these scenarios, that I feel there is sufficient evidence to say that the MC is slowly on the path to feeling forgiveness for the MC. This isnt a revenge plotline. Forgiveness is a gift, not owed. Its not about how much the MC grovels, or begs for forgiveness. Its ALWAYS and ONLY about the victim's healing. The MC is CHOOSING to seek him out. The ML isnt earning it. He IS however, not wasting this very rare opportunity to prove his redemption to the person he has hurt so deeply.
How convenient (plot wise) that the VICTIM is very FORGIVING.
It’s always the same formula; JERKWAD who abuses the MC for almost the entirety of the chapters, raping, verbally abusing, and breaking them, only for them to be LUCKY that the person they broke are KINDHEARTED.
My complaints stem from the lack of DETAILED SUFFERING for the perpetrator, yet the victim’s suffering was so detailed…
I get that this could be kore focused on the MC’s HEALING, but completely offsetting the supposed PAYOFF (redemption) is such a CONVENIENT WRITING MECHANIC that authors use.
The ML— despite the so-called “centuries of suffering” still got everything he wanted. An heir, and even a decent life in the modern times. And now, he also managed to get the MC??
Fucking ridiculous.
I understand your points, but that doesn’t erase my anger from ML escaping accountability and suffering, despite the abuse he has committed.
So I hope he SUFFERS A LOT next season.
