they got hacked, pretty much it.
Basically, someone gained access to their website files without their permission. This meant that there was a chance that the hackers could access our data e.g. passwords/emails/logins.
To deal with this, they had to take the website down for a while to carry out maintenance.
This happened to mangadex at around the same time.
Mangago is pretty secretive IMO, they don't have any social media and are basically hidden for the most part. Any info we can get will be limited and will mainly come from other users. I have been in contact with other people.
Honestly, I have been on here for quite some time and in the past, they would take it down for a day at most if they needed to carry out maintenance.
