By now we know how ash is. He loves karlyle with his whole heart. He cares for him and has for most of the story and we've all seen it. No matter how much he wants to He doesn't push karlyle to do thing he doesn't want unless it's when Lyle tries to distant himself emotionally( ie not calling him by his first name) and we all know he is possessive they both are. Right now Ash is going through a mental crisis bc karlyle wants to move out and distance himself, when ash probably thought they'd be living together forever, and not communicating bc he thinks that's what Lyle wants. On top of that he's going through irregular ruts which means his emotions are at a all time high and rational at a low. He knows this and doesn't want to hurt karlyle so he also distances himself content with doing it alone in fear of hurting the man he loves most.
He stops giving into his desires whilst trying to keep karlyle satisfied and doesn't argue against Lyle's wishes even though it's the opposite of what he wants. So after pushing and fighting away from his worlds greatest desires and said desire saying its all right he let's into his cravings. Wanting Lyle to be there with him and wanting everyone to know especially karlyle know he is ash's and he is loved. He has probably been wanting to push karlyle to the brink for awhile now but doesn't because he is scared, now he has that chance he is taking it. Even though we all know or should know in the right state of mind he'd never do that.
Karlyle went in believing he could take it, and partly guilty that ash would and has dropped everything to be with him during his rut. So why can't he do the same because he loves ash. He just didn't know what he was getting into even after ash told MANY times he still pushed wanting to go through it and help. Karlyle kinda enjoyed it and lowkey just wanted a little rest before going at it again, even at the end of this chapter he was willing to go again after resting a bit.
I didn't exactly enjoy Ash covering Lyle's mouth when he said it hurt but when ash pushed and pushed trying to get Karlye away after telling him no also gave me a icky feeling so why are people just now having a problem when Karlyle is saying no and not when Ash was saying no.
