Finished it, but I hated it. I don't even know how I came this far without dropping it, but I did, and I don't even think it's worth the effort.

I came here looking for something about gods and thought it was definitely interesting at first. Spoiler alert, it wasn't.

Lots of things didn't make any sense, and you'd think priests would be all about purity and cleanliness of the mind and body, this one's the absolute opposite if it and decided to give me rape, abuse, physical and sexual assaults, and decades of conspiracy which, by the way, wasn't interesting at all.

The evil priest fell in love with his friend who left the church to get married and have a family. He convinced his friend that his wife was cheating in him and he wavered and got involved with a demon who possessed him and kill his wife and himself. The priest moved on to their son, had him committed to the church, pushed him to exorcism, brainwashed him into avenging his parents, raped and abused him so that he could be the target of the old devil who possessed his father and so they could resurrect his father in his own body. How twisted is that.

He ruined his friend's life, marriage, and his son's life just because he was in love with him. If he's not the devil incarnate then I don't know who is.

Anyways, this is the exact reason I stay away from stories like this. Yaoi about priests and exorcisms and god is always about some twisted perversion with them going back on their vows and turning their back on their god. It's disgusting and I am an idiot for even reading this. I'm out. Next time, I'll take my curiosity someplace else and shove it up my ass if I ever look at something like this again.

I just thought a lot about Calypso and remembered that 3-4 years agi I read a yaoi manhwa about him/her.

Second time reading this and it's still as fun as the first time. Now I remember why I forgot the story. It never had any smut, which is so painful but still, the plot is okay.

The last panel at the ending creeped me out cos I figured that guy was weird, never thought he really played a big part on the couple's story.

Anyway, will probably reread this again in the future so I'm leaving this review because I wasn't able to in the first time.

This is probably the only manhua that ever made me rethink my views on manhuas. They're usually over the top and dramatic that I rarely read any of them unless it's for the plot. I love how funny the duo is and how the Uke is a total badass. He hits his poor brother all the time that I feel so sad for him and somewhat it's a little of the top but it's still funny.

Anyways, I'm here for this because of the comments in Instagram and I do not regret ever checking it out. You guys were right. This was worth it. Too bad I discovered it too early because chapters in manhuas are too short and quick that it needs to be at least a hundred chapters before you read it.

I'll be back to check on this from time to time. So invested now.

It was really funny from the beginning. She had these funny expressions and a lot of scenes came from memes so I really loved it. Longer I read it though, it got less fun. I mean, I get that, it becomes serious for the sake of the plot. But the plot itself was inconsistent.

Never really said at what era the FL came from. I thought for sure it was from the modern world but apparently it's something historical as well. And she was raised as an assassin. A little too unconventional. Also, unexpected because she rarely showed her skills unless she needs to, so I always forget her background.

It also felt random that she had an assassin's background, because she rarely mentioned it, even when she was reluctant in liking the ML. It wasn't "I am not worthy" or the "He doesn't know who I am" cliche. It's more like "It's possible I'll die so I won't fall for him". But she wasn't at all against it either. She fell for him easily so I don't get the point of her past life. If you get what I mean.

The story also did not share much on how she read this novel. She isn't bothered with it too, probably because she changed the story a lot. But even the story itself didn't care that it was a novel she read, like it's a minor factor in the story.

I really, really liked it. Just that the pacing is too slow, hiding the real villain was unnecessary, and building the empress up as a good villain only to kill her that easily just to reveal the real villain is not necessary. Like, I thought she was the real villain, she had good motive too. The pope was just an egoist. And it was like a sudden decision to change the plot like that.

Anyways, this is one of the times the ratings were correct in their judgement. It just got messy and sloppy the longer the story went. Buhbye.

I want to type down some comments on the story so far but I'll wait until it ends. I don't got the time but I also wanna type it down when it's fresh in my mind. See ya.

I lost the first half of what I wrote down so I'm just gonna go and say it straight up because I'm too tired to write it all down again.

I liked it at first because it featured familial love and I was really interested in the concept of Astariols and Taras. But of course they did that for over 50 chapters that I got tired of it and wished that they would finally grow up and mature. Well, they did. A 10 year time skip. Too much? Yeah. We didn't even get to see them grow up and mature. They were just nine, then snapped, and made them 19 year olds.

Also, I was liking the FL at first because she wasn't the same as other Astariols and proved that even without Taras, Astariols can still feel emotions, they just don't know how to express them. But then she began acting like her mom towards her Tara. I hated her mom for denying their dad the unconditional love he gave her and kept rejecting him even though it was plain as day that she loved him. She's just overreacting and ran away while pregnant with the twins, and for 10 years they ran from him. All because she couldn't fathom why he was so in love with her and she couldn't have the decency to return the favor love him back normally.

I hated how dramatic their mother was, and frankly, she started acting the same when she met her Tara. She kept rejecting him, even though she was his saving grace, and pushed him away until eventually he got caught by the devil. Guess who pushed her away now? Yeah. I hated it. They said she resembled her dad a lot but to me it's the mother she resembled. And it was excruciating to read.

So I'm leaving. It was fun while it lasted. The art wasn't that good and it was awkward most of the the time. The pacing was slow and sudden. Like, they didn't know what to do with the story. And now I just wanna leave this out of my mind and out of my screen. Buhbye.

I did nothing but read this all day but all I get is "End of Season 3"? Are you fricking kidding me!!?

Still, I'm lucky they just got back but I'm still not gonna read this for a while and marinate it until it's finished.

Up to the point of the timeskip, the story was doing great. Flawless, even. The story made sense, the pacing was perfect, and it wasn't confusing at all. But then they decided it would be best for her to have a coma for five years. Understand that? FIVE YEARS, not just 3. Five. Then everything just became a blur.

She stopped hanging out with her father, which us upsetting, btw, because I enjoyed the father-daughter bonding. Then it wasn't her family that explained what happened for the past 5 years. It was the prince and his fiancee (her friends) that did and it honestly didn't give any impact on everything they told her.

It's also curious that her tutor, the villainous hybrid collecting maniac, didn't make any moves while she was a sleep and only did once she woke up.

Everything just felt so rushed. Even her reunion with Lucilian was very lacking. They never hugged and there were no tears. Even though the kid practically sacrificed his blood, sweat, and tears to make these holy stones for her. It was so frustrating to watch this story fall down from grace. I seriously expected it to be good, everything was almost perfect until that dreaded timeskip changed the flow of the story and ruined it for me.

It pains me to say, but this one just broke my heart. I can only hope that in the later chapters they would fix this. I think it's already too late for me as I've already given up on the story, but I hope it's not too late for the other readers who would continue reading it.

Buhbye.

The art is astonishingly beautiful but it's also painful to look at, the panels are sometimes confusing to look at, but the story is beautiful enough to balance that.

It's interesting to see the MC not being the one isekaid or regressed. Just seeing her being so lovable despite the hard life, in the first timeline and this one, just makes me love her even more. She's a blessing. A miracle. I can't believe she exists and I think her loved ones also believes she's too good for this world. I hope she remains the same even when she's grown past the age she was determined to die.

I'll be waiting for more chapters to come!

The story actually is good, however you're correct about the art. Does it get better? I stopped reading this years before and now thinking to go back at it. The panels, the monologues are confusing. I don't even know who's monologues most of it. ╥﹏╥

I honestly kept up with it even with how the art is. But weirdly once ya get halfway thru it becomes bearable and actually becomes easier to read.

Frosche79 June 25, 2026 11:59 pm

The art, the character designs, the storyline, everything is just so perfect. It also showcases the MC's struggles and how she deals with it that it's really believable and interesting to see unlike most stories that never really have those believable struggles.

I also love that she hasn't forgiven nor does she need to forgive her dad even though he was right next to her this whole time. Most stories have the MC forgive the parent who abandoned they very easily which makes me feel unfulfilled because of the lack of punishment. She doesn't hate him. He just doesn't matter to her just as she didn't matter to him the first time they met.

I cried a lot reading this and I knew I was in for a world of pain but it was worth it. It's only 75 chapters for now but I knew that and kept reading it because I feel like the story would be worth the wait. I am so glad I did.

I'll be waiting for the updates on this. I think it'd be about a year. See you then.
