You know when you hear about your friend in high schools 25 year old bf and your first reaction isn’t. ‘ oh hey! A pedophile!’ It’s usually ‘ oh wow! She has an adult bf, so cool.’ This manga is an embodiment of that to me. I liked it a lot as a teen, but now that I’m older…. Junta’s a f*cking rapist. Your bf got r*ped so you r*pe him back?! It’s just….. I like yandere stuff but I’m getting so picky about it.
I just love when stories are like: ‘slavery is fine, because these slaves are happy!’ It’s a lazy story telling trope to dance around creating real relationships between characters. And bolster the main character as a ‘good person’ because they treat their slaves well. This person follows you because you own them. And the fact you showed them basic human kindness is not a reason for loyalty. I can see it now, the slaves she buys will eventually pay off their debts and then choose to stay with her on their own accord!
I don’t understand why they couldn’t just kill the doctor? Like he couldn’t just remotely kill the guides right? He would have to prompt them to commit suicide, so he would have to talk to them. So…. Just gather all his patients and tell them “hey this guy was crazy and manipulative, don’t listen to him!” Like wtf is this threat?
The weird disconnect between the MC backstory and the reason he is scared of the ML and runs away is lacking in so many ways. With the crazy mark on his chest I originally suspected the MC was a runaway darkness guild guide that was sheltered to the point of naivety. But no, he’s just stupid and gullible. I wanted him to have some sneaky reason to stick with the guild and maybe use them in turn but NO, he’s just stupid and gullible. I’m hearing a lot of praise for the novel, I bet it fixes these issues but it felt so rushed in the end

Someone had to write this, do page design and then draw it…. I couldn’t make it part chapter 11. Can’t even imagine how they managed to do 20 more chapters
