The way I see it, Diesel has been abused for a long time, he does not know the difference between loyalty and love. He confuses the two between Yanek and Ein. In the earlier chapter, he seems to believe he loved Yanek and thought he followed Ein because of canine instinct.

But this flashback suggests he got everything backward. What he felt towards Yanek was gratitude and loyalty, while falling for Ein without he himself realizing.

As for the whole cheating thing, consider this, if you lived a life of abuse, and someone saved you out of it, and you ended up having sex and even kill for that person... that is far from having a normal relationship. That relationship is not equal. It feels more like a master and their dog.

Diesel also realises this. That is why in earlier chapter, he also said staying with Yanek would be the end for him. He knew deep down this is wrong, but remained with Yanek because he was bound to the loyalty that dogs have towards their owners. Yet, despite all of this, he still falls for Ein.

Personally I don't dislike or favor any of the characters, as I find all of them intriguing. When it comes to Yanek, I even feel pity as we don't know what made him choose such life. His distrust of people and his love for pets show that he is actually a very lonely person. Unfortunate for him, Diesel may be a dog, but he is also a human. He may be able to train a dog to like and follow his order, but he cannot control a human's heart.

    Well written!
I can agree with everything except for one thing. We know that Yanek just continued the family 'business' as it was stated that it was his father who started to smuggle things (cars, drugs even 'whores', etc)

    MeiMei February 24, 2019 7:07 am

Yep, I agree. You said exactly what i thought.

    maychan February 24, 2019 11:57 am

and Yenak keep using dogs terms on Diesal, what is super funny to me cause Diesal is not only just a big "dog". and that the thing, Yenak wants to control everything. what he can't, and that's why it will never work from the start.
I agree their relationship is not equal, that what I been saying for a long time (●'◡'●)
too bad the blind fans of Yanek will never get it ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I read this manga in both Chinese and English and it is interesting how different people interpretation when it comes to the story and characters. The cultural differences are rather vast.

Personally, being raised in a Chinese family, I strongly relate to Senpai, and it is sad how he is so misunderstood. Unlike most who thinks poor Morinaga, I'm the opposite. I'm not fond with overtly romantic, touchy, declaring love every 5 seconds kind of relationship. I much prefer Senpai way of showing love, Down to earth, always prioritize the important things in life, such as future, job, well being, etc.

One part of the manga that touches upon this is when Senpai asked Morinaga, is there a way to gauge how much one loves someone? Is it really Morinaga who loves Senpai more than Senpai loves him?

I personally think that Senpai really loves Morinaga. it is just not in the way many romance manga like to portray, aka, fawning with each other every 5 second, possessiveness, jealousy etc. Which is honestly, what Morinaga is all about.

One Chinese reader commented this before, how Senpai way of showing love is rather old fashioned while Morinaga is like a teenager in love, which I agree. I find this gap between the two is the reason why this manga is so interesting and unique.

Yep, they both have their own flaws and their own different understandings/expectations of how one should be in a relationship, communicate and demonstrate affection. It means they both fail to understand where the other is coming from and therefore inadvertently hurt them.

Morinaga's "pure" in that he's mainly an open book - but one of his biggest flaws is how he fails to understand that this creates pressure and is exactly what pushes Senpai to be more extreme in his tsundere rejection - because Senpai is not comfortable with constantly expressing everything, even to himself. Of course, Senpai fails to understand that without explicit expressions of affection and dedication Morinaga feels insecure, and cannot always interpret Senpai's implicit actions correctly.

I don't have a favourite of the pair, I guess because I'd fall somewhere in between the two.

If vampire drinking vampire blood is considered cannibalism, then what does half vampire drinking blood is gonna be called? Regardless of whether it is human or vampire, it is still eating your own kind. So, how come it is regarded as though you are drinking red bull instead? (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

When i first heard that there were only a few chapters left, I already knew Junseo would not be the end game. However, the final chapter being disappointing is an understatement. While I don't expect Jaewon to suddenly change his mind and end with Junseo, I was expecting a final wrap up towards Junseo story. Perhaps an insight to what he thinks and learns from a second broken love, or a moral message behind the story.

What we get though, is well, almost nothing. He was given zero dialogue, and pretty much an afterthought. It is like the author also does not know how to wrap up Junseo story. If that is the case, then why bother making Junseo liking Jaewon in the first place? I don't understand. Even the third wheel of shoujo manga normally gets better treatment than this. Junseo, arguably has way more story, development and interaction with Jaewon than anyone else in the story. Not to mention, he is the only character where we get to see his point of view outside of Jaewon. He is more of a deuteragonist than a third wheel, and yet, he is given a treatment worst than a side character. (Case in point, Hanjun from Lover Boy gets a better resolution than this...)

Unless the author is planning an epilogue, or better yet, a sequel that could properly wrap up Junseo story, then honestly, this story, as cute as the journey is, is terribly planned, where the end really undermines the journey.

P.S. I am not upset, just a disappointed reader, since it has so much potential. Maybe I should take solace that the series at least did not jump the shark the way A Man Like You is. Oh well... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Spoiler to 66

I think the title Unriped Expression refers to Junseo. As Junseo falls for Jaewon, he shows more expressions, however, this is cut short as his love does not bear fruit. Hence, the title.

Of all the characters (aside from Jaewon), Junseo was given the most screen time, the most character development, and a back story. This is why most people ship Jaewon with him. But after realising what the title means, I think the two was not meant to be...

Unless, Jaewon changed his mind in the next 6 chapters, and make Junseo reveal a new expression (of happiness) that he has never shown Jaewon before. (=・ω・=)

Why on earth does Kuro x Koi is listed as one of the manga made by this author? Tagura Toru is not Takagi Ryou. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Hitomi is the glasses guy, who is also a doctor, Itokawa's lover, and the one who saved Hizuru's life after he got shot.

Itokawa is the black-haired boy who just moved to the country side, very innocent, befriends with Hizuru.

Hizuru is the red-haired boy who happened to be Yakuza, working under Youmei. Has been in love with Youmei ever since he was saved by him.

Youmei is the tall, black-haired, emotionless Yakuza, who got Hizuru from his older brother, who was the previous leader.

Kiriya is the blond-haired Yakuza, is the current leader ever since Youmei's brother got murdered. He ordered Niwa to kidnap Hizuru so Youmei would hunt down Katsumata who was thought to be the killer.

Zaizen is the black-haired, sharp-eyed Kiriya's lawyer. He helped to solve the tension between Kiriya and Hitomi, since the former kidnapped and intoxicated the latter lover.

The arc so far goes like this:

1) Hitomi x Itokawa (Curiously the two never go all the way, always got interrupted)
2) Daiki x Sawato (Their story had an abrupt end)
3) Youmei x Hizuru (The longest arc, and feels the most complete so far)
4) Kiriya x Zaizen (Current and ongoing arc)

My best guess is we will finish Kiriya x Zaizen arc first before going back to the first couple, and maybe we might also get the second couple epilogue.

Hope that helps!

I think whether you like this story highly depends on what you are expecting. If you are expecting a fluffy, cute romance with some drama, then this is definitely not for you.

I am one of the few who likes this turn of event because I am a fan of psychology. I like how everything is not clear cut, and we are left guessing character motivation and thoughts. It feels realistic, as in real life, people are shades of grays, not straightforward, and at times contradictory.

Personally, Eunho's change is interesting to me, because I can no longer tell what he is thinking. I would suggest waiting for future explanation than jumping to conclusion on his current behavior. The same can be said in regards of Jaeha.
