No, not really. I was reading ch 19 and 20, where Bum kills the woman while thinking it was the schoolfriend in his past (the one he stalked and psychologically abused), then after he killed her, he is victimblaming her (the schoolfriend). These chapters alone show us how psychopathic Bum actually is..
I made the experience that writers often project their own mindsets on the story, but as I said above, the writer could also be very objective (thus, an excellent writer) - which I assume is more likely.
Bum has borderline personality. It's different from being a psychopath. And koogi does never objectifies women(SHE IS A GODDAMN WOMAN HERSELF).bum was traumatized by the girl he thought as a friend(and maybe more than that) who showed him after she recovered (after her parent stopped hitting her) an ugly personality. Don't tell me that's not what happens in real life too. I've seen girls in my class throwing period pads and tampons to a poor boy who was just socially awkward and a bit of chubby. Not just women. Everyone does ugly things. And u obviously saw that the one who really fucked sangwoo'smond was his abusive father not to even mention bum's uncle. In front of them the girl was a fucking saint. Calling a woman a misogynist is a little... Dumb. If she is a mysogynist that makes her a misanthropists too lol. Kooqgi is a clever woman with a unique dynamic who gets paid a few pennies for her awesome work while Lezhin gets more than 65% of her earning. As I said reality sucks.
Also if you so much eantto defend women's rights in a manga(we are all women here too BTW lol) why are u reading yaoi? I've read yaoi manga where the girl is shown as the devil herself doing nothing more than torture the MC. Also if u want to worry about someone that should be bum who is being manipulated till this day by sangwoo.

First off, Koogi, a misogynist? I really doubt that. She is an artist. They are expected to think out of the box. We see many questionable things in movies, comics, etc but that doesn't reflect what the creator approves or even support. Koogi has written a psychological horror. Gore is expected. People will die.
And I think that Koogi likes Jieun so much so that he brought her back from dead, literally. She didn't forget her and found a way to include her in story's special chapter.
Also, I agree with what @fae96 said that people are cruel to someone who is different, misfit. Bum suffered that fate through a girl that he so easily fell in love with. And believed they were in a relationship. He is delusional. He found a way to relate to her and bam, he loves her! Then gets paranoid when neglected by her. He was obsessed with her to the point that he stole her stuff. And when Jieun said those harsh words in chapter 19 it triggered those bad memories and Bum lost it and stabbing her and then recoiled from it all. These are all the symptoms of BPD he's showing: he has a distorted self image, easily attached and afraid he will be abandoned, self harm, depression. He is not a psychopath who are egoistic, charming and basically Sangwoo. Koogi has done a bang up job in developing the characters.
Bum is not innocent but we empathize with him to some extend bcoz the story is in his pov and we see how he is driven to act in such a way bcoz of the disorder and how people ostracize him, instead of helping. He could live a normal life if he undergoes treatment. I have seen it happen around me, many people joke about mental issues and never really try to understand it fully.

It has been categorized under yaoi but I read it mainly bcoz its a psychological thriller/horror. I don't feel Yaoi is what its all about. People can read it even if they are not into male/male.
I know because I've read koogi's interview. The point is the plot and the psycho analysis and depth of our two MCs. Nevertheless it is a story between two men not a man x woman nor man x man friendship or hatred. (It's about them having a special bond and opening up to each other -especially sangwoo who is a very complicated person)
Yeah, plot is mostly circled around 2 men, Sangwoo & Bum and their relationship. What I meant was that the story can reach out to a wider demographic than just Yaoi fans. And the fact that Bum was a guy is what makes the story even more interesting. I don't believe I would've enjoyed it at the same level if the captive was women.
And I´m so fucking angry. I hope the woman survives this monster.
If you are talking about Bum, he is not a woman and if you are talking about the women at the beginning of season 1 or the other one at the end of season 1 (Min Jin) well... he is a psychopath. He didn’t kill Bum because he looks like his mother... so... nobody will survive. Sangwoo is an asshole. Sorry.

Yes Sangwoo is a psychopath, I get that of course, and the woman was killed, because the story is just so fucked up and at the same time so realistic, realistic, because there are men like those two and they aren´t rare and victims like that woman feel the biggest desperation there can be.. its just scary

Seju... was born an unwanted bastard. That alone is big threat to her growth & development as a child. Based on the story.. Her very existence as a sibling to her fellow sibling isnt good. Its toxic. Her father on the other hand was really nice to her.. her father was a good provider and indulge Seju everything she wants yet none of that truly makes her happy. Yeah.. she live a very comfortable and convenoent lifestyle.. but The Level of toxic people shes dealing with goes beyond boundary of Law... her mother... i dont know about the mother but seju seems not close to her. So im guessing.. there is already a gap relationship with her mother. Obviously.. seju is actually really alone. Until she met Sumin. Than when everything change for seju. In my opinion.. seju was and always been head over heels for sumin. Always waiting for sumin. The only mistake seju was she ever made was sleeping with that rand0m guy. Of course you cant blame sumin for being angry and vengeful. Yet seju was humble and willing to pay for all her mistakes to start all over again. As for sumin well.. she slept with so many girls to intentionally hurt seju. But seju has been enduring and still.waiting as usual for sumin to come back in her life. Seju is lustful with its all about Sumin.. a go getter (shes a rich girl by the way)and toxic but she is loyal and commited all at the.same time. I understand people like.seju. that kind of people need people who really loves them hard and has nothing to do with money.
