I dont get why you’re all rooting for the mc. Yes she suffered and it explains why her attitude and behavior is that way. But then what? Wtf is the goal here? Yes she deserves happiness i get it after all the shit she been through BUT HELLOO SHE ALSO CAUSED SHIT TO A LOT OF PEOPLE like why are we blindly just rooting for her. She needs to fix that ass attitude. I’m even too annoyed to continue it cuz i dont see shit improving. I dont even get why you guys are hating the white haired guy so much just because he’s not head over heels over the mc at first glance or smthn. I dont like or hate him. His reaction is pretty realistic. Who tf would be attracted to someone like the mc who acts spoiled, hates pretty much everyone and lashes out to everyone as her form of coping mechanism? I get it she’s misunderstood and the story is conveniently trying to make her the “victim” but she’s clearly guilty of a lot of things too and just generally terrible at treating other people. TERRIBLE. Her backstory doesnt excuse her assy attitude. Dropping this cuz im getting tired of this but im rating it slightly higher just because at least theyre pretty consistent with the character and not just magically make the mc “kind” or some shit or make her cry and be a damsel in distress and make the characters pity her and decide to know her backstory explaining why she’s cruel. At least she’s a tad bit complex than other similar mc’s who’s just all carbon copies of previous settings like this.

you already said it? she deserves much better. you're saying varkas reaction is realistic but when it comes to mcs reaction its suddenly annoying?? hell, her attitude needs to 'assy' because they don't respect her, i think it's her coping mechanism is to be 'assy' so that even if they don't respect her at least they're scared of her??she's causing a lot of shit to people because they cause her a lot of shit too. but i agree with you with not seeing her goal here it's kinda dumb.
will tell u this now, im pretty sure everyone is aware of how she treats people and how she can be a bitch, so i dont think people are blindly rooting for her at all. it’s just that people empathize with her and feel that she deserves to be treated better, and im saying this for everyone when i say that she genuinely does (i've read the novel). she’s just one of those instances where your environment really projects what kind of person you’ll become and how you’ll cope with things. people cope differently, so i dont really get why you expect her to act a certain way or turn out nicer despite everything that happened to her. that’s not always how trauma works. and i dont get why you seem so mad at her for being a victim when she clearly is one? nobody is dismissing the fact that she can be a bitch or that she has hurt people, so i dont get why you’re so insistent on her “fixing” her attitude as if that’s something she can just switch off. “fixing” it is not easy, especially when you’re surrounded by people you can’t trust and have learned to cope by lashing out and keeping everyone away. her behavior is wrong while still being understandable given what she’s been through. those two things can exist at the same time. anyway, to each their own i guess. if this isn’t your story, then that’s fine. free will i just wanted to correct you on some things because i feel like you’re reducing her character to “ass attitude” when there’s clearly more nuance to why she acts the way she does. and as someone who advocates for mental health, i just think it’s important to acknowledge that trauma doesn’t always make people kinder or easier to deal with.
