To people saying you hope he isn't aro/ace, pls understand that aro and ace are spectrums. Hirano can be (and most likely is) aro and can still date. Please try to be more educated before leaving comments like that because they're giving hate tbh and there's sm people reading this manga who feel seen by him.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm feeling worried because I spent years reading about them, and I'll be sad if they'd only get together romantically because this is escapism for me. Of course, aro/ace identities are wonderful and valid, but Hirano is fictional and has not claimed to be any identity as much as we try to speculate. Up until he said the word "repulsed," I thought he was demi. Now, I'm not so sure.
Oh my gosh, I just reread this, and realized that the reply autocorrected weird. I meant to say that I'd feel sad if they *didn't* romantically end up together– like if they just ended up as friends parting ways.
Lol trust me im the same way, I totally get you. I also went them to get together! And I'd be really shocked if they dont end up together by the end of it but i dont think the manga is heading that way. The author hasn't really ever labeled any of their characters but they make it clear in other ways. I think right now it's totally fair to see hirano as aroace spec with his reactions and thought process, and especially becuase so many aroace spec people can connect with him (we have the same experiences). I personally do think hes demi, but I mostly made this comment because regardless of where he lands, being aro/ace spec is not a bad thing and I wanted to reiterate that against comments that were kinda making it seem that way. I think hirano saying hes repulsed is just him navigating his boundaries in what romance and intimacy looks like for him as a possibly demi aro person, but I have faith he'll figure it out with kagi^^ (sorry for the long reply I could yap for hours about them(￣∇￣"))

Hirano describing how he loves kagi but he thinks that love doesnt count because it's not the same love that majority of people seem to have, it's not "the norm," and so he thinks that he cant love kagi in the same way and then realizing that love can take many shapes but doesnt mean it counts any less thanks to ichonose... and kagi reassuring him too... this manga is so special for aroace spec friends <333
