Honestly, if Dr. Meishuu were a pure seme, nobody would say anything about his activities, and some would probably even go crazy over how someone's finally able to make him settle down. Just because he bottoms for Getsuei, so many ppl are calling him a slut for past and present flirtations. He's not a girl (and women shouldn't be held to this ridiculous chastity notion designed to oppress, either). Get over it.

I think if he's the top and he goes flirt around when in a relationship with Getsuei, he'd still be criticized.
The past is okay, but he's in a relationship at that time.

An originally straight guy, who has a complex about being called pretty & treated like a girl, gets attacked by someone he admired, and whom he thought just treated him like one of the latter's many girlfriends, then remained distant from then on. And now readers keep calling him dishonest, or a jerk, etc. Yes, Hatakeyama repented and waited a decade for him, but he could have been more effective by simply HAVING A PROPER CONVERSATION, AND it doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with how Yamazaki treated him, at any point in time. Getting him to change his view on life isn't an easy thing, and shouldn't be, either, especially with the lack of communication between them. I can understand if ppl prefer easy stories where straight men are suddenly ok with being fucked, pardon my language, and wooed like women; however, in that case, saying that they don't like the manga's fine, but bashing the uke for behaving like an actual human being with dignity instead of a stupid girl just irks me.

Also, after reading Dekiru Otoko no Sodatekata (related story), it showed exactly how Hatakeyama almost raped him, and lived under the delusion (for all these years) that the latter left him to be lovers with his new boss. What a prick! Yamazaki never showed any signs of being gay, much less an uke, and has many female admirers. Of course he'd leave, especially when the new boss actually treated him with respect, valued his skills as chef, and DIDN'T harass him. It's obvious that Hatakeyama still treats him like a girl, despite Yamazaki splitting the bill when invited to dine out. If he loved him so much, why not offer his own ass on a plate? It'd serve him right if Yamazaki sued him for attempted rape, & fell in love with a girl instead.

agree! this manga prove that the uke still feel hurt and thinking that the seme was betrayed his trust or should say he has a trauma after that... I can't blame him... both of them learning to forgiving themselves after all (▰˘◡˘▰)

Thank you for this! I was genuinely irked that so many people disliked Yamasaki-san just for being the representation of an actual human being and not a Shoujo inspired damsel who gets caught up in the love confession and readily goes along with the lover boy.
It is slow development and actually takes time to develop the characters based on circumstances presented by life, not just flimsy confessions.
Yamasaki-san is not an ungrateful person and he is not unappreciative of Hatakeyama's feeling, he simply dislikes being treated as anything, but the man he is. On multiple occasions he expresses sentiments like he's a man and a chef, so despite his pretty appearance, he has the power to overthrow or defend himself from another man. Had it been a Seme who'd acted in a similar manner, people would've gushed over him for being so manly and hot and knowing how to keep his own.
Besides, as soon as he understands just why Hatakeyama loves him, Yamasaki reconsidered his feelings and actions. Didn't you think that every time Yamasaki tried to prove Hatakeyama that he was just a man like any other, he always focused on his body and never really talked about his feelings? That's because repeatedly in front of Yamasaki, Hatakeyama has only shown a preference for his physical appearance. He as always praised his cooking skill behind his back before he was urged to do so by Kazuha.
Sorry for the long post, but seriously guys, give credit where it's due because Yamasaki is a very good and relate-able character.
