I don’t think he liked his ex as much as he liked the MC. He probably just went out with her as a way to move on. She also seemed to like the status she gets from dating a hot guy. She always seems to record their dates and she looked happy when other people were staring at them when they went out. I’m definitely cheering for our MC and ML (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I wished it spoke more on why his parents were killed. Also the weird relationship with the uncle and mom, and why the mom didn’t like how close her son was with the uncle.
Unpopular opinion but I kind of like the empress (⊙…⊙ ) I know she’s not good for the emperor cause of her abuse. However, her character is a rare find for women in these stories and that’s probably why I like her. I liked when she slapped him after she threw the ashes, cause he seriously needs to snap out of it. Even her son was believes he needs to get out of his mother’s shadow and move on.
Obviously she and the emperor shouldn’t end up together. The guy just needs help, cause he went from one toxic relationship to another. It would be cool if the empress could be honest and explain her feelings towards him since I believe she truly loves him in her own twisted way.
But I highly doubt that would ever happen and she’s most likely gonna get killed. I feel like the only way she will die is if she scarifies her life for the emperor, and that would be her way to leave a final mark on him.

I’m saying her character is a rare find because those types are usually male characters. I don’t like that she’s abusive and a rapist but it’s interesting to see those roles reversed. It’s my first time reading a story with a woman being so strong and toxic and I’m interested in seeing how her story ends. When the roles are reversed, a lot of them have the abused women end up with their toxic ML. I hope and I’m pretty sure the emperor is definitely not gonna end up with her. So I’m excited to see her conclusion, maybe he will be the one to kill her.
Although I understand the perspective of how "new" the perspective is just because of the genderswap, it is precisely vc of that that I am enraged... Idk I just think she has her strong points but she is dog shit awful like a man
They’re cute together and I’m happy that they’re end game. However, I kind of wish she would have slept around before settling with him. Like maybe have him teach her the ways of being a slut before they realize their feelings for each other. Just to make things fair cause she literally walked in on him twice with other women and seen him change girlfriends multiple times. While, she only had that cheating ex that she didn’t even sleep with.

I really wanted to like the empress cause I love strong, no BS women. But the dude is traumatized. If only she didn’t force him to have sex with her and let him heal from his previous weird relationship. They could’ve been a cute pair, as a tough girl and soft boy couple.
I think the problem is that the empress is too domineering and selfish. She doesn’t really see Genas for who he is, and imo I think she’s got too much of a sadistic streak to treat him properly as a romantic partner. Granted we don’t get too much about Genas and the empress, but my impression of the empress is that she’s a bit like a cat playing with her food, and the amusement she gets from being with Genas is enough for her, which is why she doesn’t care about how much Genas clearly detests her. She knows the problem is her own self but she doesn’t care because she has exactly what she wants.
Even though he wasn’t cheating, she should still divorce him for being so stupid. (￣ε(#￣)Σ
I wish she refused signing the marriage contract and spoke about terminating the marriage to her family. I’m sure they would’ve backed her up.
What I’m curious about is, why is she a bad cook? Wasn’t she cooking a whole meal for her ex/husband’s family in the first chapter? How did she go from that to making burnt inedible food later on?

I hope she doesn’t end up pregnant and gets her divorce. I know she’ll end up with him in the end but let it be after he reflects on his actions and give her time to think on what she wants to do. Let them date before remarriage and actually get to know each other. Even with the very low possibility of it happening, I’m still gonna be rooting for the other guy!
I hate the fact that if she chooses Linus or Howe, she’s still gonna be connected to Tessa in some way. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
