in America, i think they have this thing like new year's kiss where you kiss someone right at 00:00, usually its someone you like but they kiss random people too sometimes. i've read about this in few fictions.
also Ash remembers the kiss, but only after Lyle hinted it, as he recreated the same kiss in New Year when they started dating.

He remembered the kiss but he didn’t know who that person is because Lyle was standing in the dark so Ash couldn’t see his face. Because of that kiss he decided dating alphas believing they’re fated and that if he keeps dating alphas he gonna find the person he kissed that night. After Karlyle gave him the hint when they met again at Gordon’s party, Ash realized that person is Karlyle. And i think there’s this thing in America called new year’s kiss where people kiss other people at 00:00 (i saw this in movies so im not sure whether they also kiss random people because in movies it’s usually the person the MC likes)
