I mean it's not unrealistic that he doesn't think abt them as something forever. We the audience know the story is abt them, so obviously they'll end up together, but how many times you thought abt your hook ups, "yup I'm gonna marry this person and it'll be happily ever after"?

Which doesn't have to mean anything. Just bc someone says they love you, doesn't mean you have to reciprocate their feelings.

Dude I feel like you’re taking this SUPER personally. As you said obviously they’re gonna end up together and it’s most likely gonna be some big revelation on eunsans part where he thinks “oh I think I do love him” or “wow I’ve been in love this whole time”. Also what I said was partially a joke and partially I read enough yaoi/smut to know when the main characters are deliberately being delusional.

I also read a lot of BL/smut so I'm too well aware of this trope, but I don't see it here. Eunsan's thought process seems understandable enough given their situation that it doesn't seems strange for someone in universe.
