We can all agree that we really hate Kanghee for what he did to Eun-oh. In fact, he makes it even worse for Eun-oh later in the story. However, I feel so bad for him after finding out his lore. Kanghee is actually half yokai. His mother is also Chae Yoon-sa’s mother, and Kanghee’s real name is Kang Yoon-So they are half brothers. Originally, Kanghee admired his older brother and wanted to be close with him. Kanghee never knew how his parents died because his grandmother raised him and told him that his father died from a fall and his mother died from childbirth. Kanghee later finds out that Chae Yoon-sa’s father had murdered his father by cutting his limbs and boiling them in a pot in front of their mother, which obviously makes Kanghee abhor Chae Yoon-sa’s father. The father then tried to win the mother’s heart back, but failed and found out that she is pregnant with Kanghee-which infuriated him and led to her being locked up. However, people had found her dead in her cell, and many people began believing that it was Chae Yoon-sa who actually killed their own mother-even Chae Yoon-sa’s father believed it, but blamed it on Kanghee’s dad. After finding all this out, Kanghee started loathing all of them (but he did love his brother) and wanted revenge. Kanghee was successful in murdering Chae Yoon-sa’s father (Kanghee looks very similar to his mother, and Chae Yoon-sa’s father saw that and one night, he came to Kanghee’s room and asked for forgiveness or something and Kanghee told him to kill himself-which he did). However, Kanghee had other plans for Chae Yoon where he wanted the master to fall in love with him since he has never given his love for anyone, and by doing so he would later reveal that he was his half brother and would run away so he would understand heartbreak (smth like that). But Eun-oh ruined his plans since Chae Yoon-sa gets close with him. This caused Kanghee to feel jealous towards Eun-oh and also hating him. However, Kanghee finds out that Eun-oh is also a yokai and somewhat helps him to escape and protect him-even though he hated him a lot (I won’t go in depth about it cuz it’s a lot). Skipping through a lot of chapters, Kanghee then basically kidnaps Eun-oh from Chae Yoon-sa because he was the only one Chae Yoon-sa loves. He tells Chae Yoon-sa about how they’re half brothers and everything I’ve mentioned (Kanghee wasn’t able to get the reaction he hoped for from Chae Yoon-sa though-but he was still surprised, just doesn’t express it well or care), and that Eun-oh ran away from Chae Yoon-sa so he wouldn’t be able to find him. He also tells him that Eun-oh is actually a yokai, which shocked Chae Yoon-sa, giving Kanghee some satisfaction. Chae Yoon-sa later gives him a slow and painful death, but lets him know that he wasn’t the one who killed their mother. She killed herself with the hairpin. This eased Kanghee as he began to die. Chae Yoon-sa then leaves him to look for Eun-so, but Eun-so was actually close by and stayed by Kanghee, trying to think of a way to save him. However, Kanghee just tells him to leave him and to run away so that Chae Yoon-sa doesn’t find him or even kill him (because he’s a yokai). ALSO, I forgot to add, Chae Yoon-sa murdered Kanghee’s family and everyone in the village during his recent hunt, and Kanghee dies in that same village (he wanted to die in the same place they were killed).

That’s as far as I got just now-just wanted to share it cuz Kanghee’s background is just sad. He didn’t deserve to live his life like this and have his other family members be killed when he tried so hard to protect them from being hunted. Obviously his situation doesn’t excuse his actions against Eun-oh, but he did somewhat care about Eun-oh because they were similar by being part yokai.

Inha, the male lead, is a huge red flag. In the novel where Jaeon took the pills to be in heat like an omega, Jaeon asked Inha if he could sleep with him. Inha said no and that he was sorry and drove away in his car leaving Jaeon alone (This isn’t the bad part, nothing is wrong against saying no to not wanting to sleep with someone). Jaeon hid in an alley or something and Inha found him. Inha later brought Jaeon into his home and they fucked. Most of the chapters were of them fucking ngl. But when Jaeon left to go to work without telling Inha, Inha became furious and started calling him a slut and raping him numerous times. After being raped, Jaeon lost all feelings towards Inha and wanted nothing to do with him. Inha refused to let Jaeon go back to his own home and basically held him hostage without even giving his phone back (Inha also snooped in his phone to see if he was messaging other people to get fucked). Jaeon suffered so much that he continued to lose weight and could barely move. At one point, Jaeon tried to leave after doing it with Inha. Inha knew that Jaeon had presented as a recessive omega and used his pheromones on him which led them to fuck again against Jaeon’s wishes. In the morning once Inha woke up, Jaeon was not waking up and was very ill which led to Inha rushing him to the hospital where he then had surgery the same day. Inha also filled out a form of who the patient was and what his relationship was with him; Inha labeled himself as his fiance. After the surgery, Jaeon and Inha were both told separately that Jaeon was a very recessive omega who wouldn’t be able to get pregnant even though he had a womb formed. The doctor stated the reason why Jaeon turned into was because of the pills he took to go into heat as a beta. After that, Jaeon and Inha were in their private room in the hospital where Jaeon was obviously upset that Inha wrote himself as his fiance on the form and refuses to talk to him. That’s as far as the free novel goes though. I’m upset at how good the art was for the manhwa and how much of an ass Inha is to Jaeon-I’m still gonna continue reading it to the end just to see what happens.
