More than Chika is in the way. Remember Masato has a wife. As bad as I feel for Masato and his unrequited feelings for Hatoka, he made his bed literally and figuratively. Now he should lie in it and get out of Chika's way. That was kind of an a hole move. Chika is for all intents and purposes Hatoka's recognized if only temp bf.
Though i see where you're going. I feel that they should be together but denied their feelings and went the "traditional" route of ignore and deny. Which is sad. I see they both generally care for each other. Now Masato is in a lose lose situation. Yes he could leave his wife but risk losing his child but be romantically happy with his love or stay in a "comfortable" marriage and never fulfill the potential of the relationship. Sucks for all three to be honest.
